Overview
This application is for financial assistance towards a 3 year postgraduate research study leading to a PhD qualification, commencing in the academic year 2024/25. Research proposals must meet your selected DAERA Research Need for 2024. Please refer to the DAERA Postgraduate Studentships Terms and Conditions 2024/25 before completing this form.
This form CANNOT be completed on an ipad or phone.

What happens next
Interview
Candidates invited to interview will be informed of the date and time of interview in writing by e-mail. If you are invited to interview we will require your original birth/adoption certificate or valid passport.
Offer of Studentship
The Department will send offers of Studentships to successful candidates and notify unsuccessful candidates.
Acceptance of Studentship
Candidates who are offered Studentships must either decline or accept the offer and return the required information within 10 working days of the Letter of Offer. Failure to do so may result in the Studentship being offered to another candidate. The following is required ONLY if you receive a Letter of Offer:
- recent passport size photograph,
- degree certificate (s) - graduates. Final year students to provide once received.
- Previous or Current Postgraduate Studies documentation to verify you have completed a course (if applicable).
