District Nursing Leadership Development Survey
District Nursing - Leadership and Leadership Skills Development Programme
As part of the District Nursing Regional Implementation Group, the Leadership subgroup is collecting views from the steering group as to what the most effective topics around both leadership and leadership skills development should be considered to build a programme for both emerging and current leadership of District Nursing.
The survey has considered both Leadership Development and the Development of Leadership Skills separately however as part of the design of a programme both elements could be delivered together. This also allows for the group to identify skills for more junior bands which we can develop for emerging leaders as part of a 'build' toward a leadership position in the future i.e. rather than try and deliver everything together which could be overwhelming for emerging leaders.
We have explored the option of having the groups work together or running separate programmes. This is not binding and ultimately resources available may dictate what we can realistically develop. There are advantages to having all bands together to develop shared learning from experiences but equally the level and approach to some topics may be better aimed at a particular band therefore indicating a separate approach.
We really appreciate members of the group taking the time to contribute to this work and look forward to sharing the results with you all.
Note there are other groups across the region working on leadership competencies and this work will influence our outcomes as it develops.
