COMPASS reports

Overview

COMPASS reports are issued on a quarterly basis to every GP practice in Northern Ireland on behalf of the Strategic Planning and Performance Group (SPPG)*. The report contains prescribing data relating to items prescribed and dispensed during that quarter by all prescribers registered to prescribe in that particular practice. It compares prescribing indicators and trends with locality and regional averages and provides practices with an indication of where they may wish to implement changes to medicines prescribed.

In addition to the practice report all non-medical prescribers (NMPs) prescribing within the practice will receive their own individual report on a quarterly basis. The purpose of this survey is to determine how useful both the practice’s and individual prescriber’s COMPASS reports are to you as an NMP.

*On 31 March 2022 the HSCB was closed and its staff and functions migrated to the Strategic Planning and Performance Group (SPPG) of the Department of Health on the 1^st April 2022
