Eastern Transport Plan Engagement Survey

Overview

The Department for Infrastructure is developing a new suite of Local Transport Plans to guide transport investment decisions up to 2035. The Eastern Transport Plan (ETP) is the largest of these plans and, once finalised, will cover the following five council areas:

  • Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council
  • Ards and North Down Borough Council
  • Belfast City Council
  • Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council
  • Mid and East Antrim Borough Council

This first phase of the ETP focuses on Belfast City Centre and the wider Metropolitan Area. At this stage of development, we are seeking your views on the draft proposals outlined for these areas.

Please note that for individual responses postcode data will be collected as part of this survey. This information will be retained for a maximum of 6 weeks after the survey closes and will then be deleted following aggregation, in line with the Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA).

Further information on the Department’s Privacy Policy is available here.

Why your views matter

Your feedback is essential in helping us shape the ETP. Your responses will inform the ongoing development of the ETP and may lead to refinements of the draft proposals.

The survey will be open from 26 October 2026 to 25 January 2027.

If you require a paper copy of the survey, please contact us at tpmu@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk
