Intertidal Hand-gathering of Shellfish - Baseline Survey

The Department of Agriculture, Environment & Rural Affairs (DAERA) is inviting you to take part in a short online survey on intertidal hand-gathering of shellfish in Northern Ireland. The survey is designed to help DAERA get an understanding of habits of those who participate in the hand-gathering of shellfish, with particular emphasis on periwinkles.

Will the information I give be treated as confidential?

The information you provide will be securely stored and treated as confidential.  The information collected will only be used for data analysis purposes and in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation. The resulting dataset will be anonymised before any analysis is published by DAERA.

What is this information used for?  

By sharing your views, you’ll be helping to shape policy development for the regulation of intertidal hand-gathering of shellfish in Northern Ireland so that such stocks are harvested at sustainable levels and the businesses that benefit from their harvest, are sustainable into the future.
