Social Care Council - Understanding Child Development and Issues Series

Closes 10 May 2024

Opened 21 Nov 2023

Overview

Hello and thank you for participating in phase two of our new Understanding Child Development and Issues digital learning resources series pilot. The following two resources have now been published to the Learning Zone and are available for testing:

  • Understanding Young People: 7-12 Years
  • Understanding Adolescent Development and Issues: 13-18 Years

The above resources have been developed to support social workers and social work students in their work with children, young people and families. The resources can also be used by professionals working in education, early years, youth and community work, health and social care and parents/care givers.

The content of the resources have been reviewed and updated during 2022/23 by the Northern Ireland Social Care Council in partnership with Professor Mary McColgan, OBE, Ulster University, Emerita Professor of Social Work, Professor Anne Campbell MBE, QUB, Dr. Suzanne Mooney, QUB and Paul McConville, Social Services Officer, Child Safeguarding and Child Protection, DOH.

The pilot will run until Friday 10th May 2024.  During this time please work your way through the resource/s including the further links and additional information and try out the reflective questions. Then let us know your views on the content and design of the digital resources by completing this feedback survey.

Your participation in this survey is voluntary. Individual respondents will not be identified in any reports produced from the survey. Any information you provide will held securely by the Social Care Council for a maximum of three years and then disposed of in line with GDPR requirements.  If you have any queries about the management of this survey, please contact our Evaluation Manager andre.mckeown@niscc.hscni.net

Thank you for taking time to help us improve our digital learning resources.
