Overview

Social Work Data and Intelligence – exploring the attitudes, experiences, and needs of social workers and managers to improve workforce information management

The Northern Ireland Social Care Council is seeking views from practising social workers and their employers to inform a short research piece into the management of social work workforce and service data. This research is part of a project we are leading on behalf of the Department of Health (DOH) to improve the collection, storage, and usage of data relating to the Northern Ireland social work workforce. We are delivering this research in partnership with Big Motive, a local research and service design company, with extensive experience in co-designing accessible, connected health services inspired by user data and insight.

The purpose of this social work data and intelligence work is to generate a clearer picture of the workforce. It will also help inform workforce and service planning. Your feedback will be used to develop systems/technology solutions to help managers and service commissioners understand and forecast service supply and demand; identify gaps in the workforce, manage capacity; allocate resources; and more easily engage in strategic workforce planning. Further information about this research is included in the Participant Information Sheet available in the link below.

This survey will take around 10 minutes to complete. It covers three key areas: social work background and experience; recording social work workforce data; and using workforce data for analysis, reporting and planning. This survey will close at midnight on 30 June 2024.

You can choose to submit an anonymous response.  All responses will be anonymised for analysis and reporting on this research project.  Any information provided will be held securely by the Social Care Council for a maximum of three years and then disposed of in line with GDPR requirements.  If you have any queries about the management of this survey, please contact the Social Care Council Evaluation Manager andre.mckeown@niscc.hscni.net
