Closes 10 Jan 2025

Opened 2 Dec 2024

Overview

Social Care Employers - Your views are needed for the Social Care Fair Work Forum review of pay, terms and conditions for social care workers

The Social Care Fair Work Forum is seeking views from employers of registered social care workers to help embed Fair Work initiatives and improve pay, terms and conditions for those working within the Private/Independent Voluntary/Charitable/Community  social care sectors across Northern Ireland.

This survey should only be used to submit feedback on domiciliary care. A separate survey invite was issued for other non-domiciliary service provision.  If you have not received this invite, please contact andre.mckeown@niscc.hscni.net to request the alternative link.

As an employer of registered social care workers delivering domiciliary care services in Northern Ireland, we need your help in making the case for change. We want to hear about your experiences of delivering services within the current economic climate and of managing staff to provide high quality care in a rapidly changing sector. We also want to hear about the supports you provide for your staff to help them in their social care role. Experiences like yours will be vital in making the case to decision-makers that increased funding for social care workers pay and terms and conditions and improvements to career pathways need to be prioritised.

This survey includes details of workforce numbers and service costs,  It is made up of 24 short questions and will take around 30 minutes to complete. As was the case for the social care worker survey, participation in this employer survey is voluntary. Responses can be submitted anonymously (in terms not providing the name of your business) if preferred. Where you chose to provide the name of your business in Section 1 (Question 1) any information provided will only be used in the analysis and reports to inform this Fair Work Forum initiative and all of your responses will be aggregated and anonymised in the overall analysis and reporting. . Survey responses will be held securely by the Social Care Council for a maximum of three years and then disposed of in line with GDPR requirements. If you have any queries about the management of this survey, please contact the Social Care Council Evaluation Manager andre.mckeown@niscc.hscni.net

Please note: This survey has been extended to midnight on Friday 10 January 2025

Please note: Organisations with larger scale operations across a range of social care services are requested to complete separate survey responses for each main service type they provide. For example, there are organisations who provide nursing home care, residential care, day care and supported living facilities. as separate business areas within an overall company/group structure. This will ensure that the factors affecting service delivery in these different areas are adequately reflected in this Fair Work Forum review.

Further information about this project is included in the Participant Information Sheet available in the link below.
