Research conference 2026 - Abstracts submission form
Introduction
The conference theme for March 2026 is “Innovating today – while preparing for tomorrow".
We will also welcome research, evidence and innovations that explore the follow sub themes:
- The role of leadership in driving and managing progress and change.
- Building capacity, knowledge and skills to embrace change.
- Intersectional perspectives, innovative practices, and cross-sectoral collaborations.
- Levering technology for responsible, human and ethical innovation.
- Psychological safety, inclusion, equality and diversity at a time of change.
This section provides a short overview to assist you in planning your abstract submission.
Section 1 - You will be asked to provide summary information for yourself, the organisation your represent and the names of any co-presenters.
Section 2 - You will be asked to confirm any required ethical approvals, authoring rights, participation at the conference and consent to share the presentation on the Social Care Council digital communications channels.
Section 3 – You will be asked to indicate whether you wish your abstract to be considered for presentation as an Oral Presentation (15 minutes), Lightning Presentation (5 minutes), or Poster Presentation.
Section 4 – You will be required to provide a 500 word abstract to give a clear indication of the focus and aim of your presentation. Abstracts can relate to one of three categories:
- Research study
- Systematic review
- Innovation and practice developments
All abstracts should be informative and concise. The table below provides an outline structure for each of the abstracts categories.
Guidance on the assessment of abstracts
All submissions will be peer reviewed for inclusion and of those selected; a number of these will be identified for oral presentation, lightning presentation or poster presentation. Peer review will take account of:
- Relevance to the conference title and theme.
- Meaningful service user and carer involvement - co-design and co-production
- Issues of equality, diversity, human rights, social inclusion and engagement in all aspects of the study including choice of topic methodological approach conduct, write up and dissemination.
- The elements of change and impact on social work and social care practice and services.
- The contribution of the study outcomes.
- Originality and creativity of the approach.
- Accuracy in presentation.
Please ensure that your abstract takes account of all of the above factors.
