My Experience of Decisions About My Care
Overview
The 10,000 More Voices initiative collects stories from people who use services in Health and Social Care so that we can make improvements to the delivery of care.
This project seeks to understand your experience of decisions about your care.
In May 2022 the Department of Health endorsed the NICE Guideline Shared Decision Making (June, 2021). All Trusts have been directed to ensure shared decision making is part of your care. Shared decision making is defined as a joint process where you and your healthcare provider work together, using the best available evidence, to decide on care plans which reflect your preferences and values. This process enables you to be actively involved in making informed decisions about your care.
We invite you to share your story about your experience as a service user or carer on how you have experienced decisions about your care.
