NICS - Strategic Learning Needs Analysis 2024
Overview
NICS – HIGH LEVEL STRATEGIC LEARNING NEEDS ANALYSIS 2024
The NICS Learning and Development (L&D) Plan 2021-22 was developed taking account of the NICS People Strategy, the RHI and the NIAO Capacity and Capability reports.
As an outcome, the NICS Board identified and agreed a number of key priority skills areas for the NICS. A high-level Strategic Learning Needs Analysis (SNLA) was conducted in 2022 to assess these across the organisation. NICS and individual Departmental SLNA Reports were produced which helped inform and support the NICS strategic priorities, including Leadership & Management, People Management, Programme & Project Management, Communication & Policy Skills.
The new NICS People Plan 2024-25 has identified 4 key Pillars including one to “Develop the potential of all our people”. As part of our commitment to deliver on the NICS People Plan, it is critical that we revisit and refresh the 2022 SLNA to ensure the learning and development offer is relevant, up to date and supports the NICS and each Department.
Why your views matter
This will provide a framework for the NICS and each Department to assess their current and future capability against the priority areas identified in the NICS People Plan. We will also use this an opportunity to benchmark results against the previous 2022 SLNA to identify where improvements have been achieved, objectives met, where gaps still exist, and ensure that future learning and development interventions can be targeted.
