ELMS Qualifications Survey

Overview

NISRA is developing an application to UKRI to establish the Agency as a Research Organisation eligible to apply directly to them for funding. We have benefited from some such funding through other organisations (e.g. QUB) in the past but this would permit us to apply directly. Some examples of recent funding opportunities include funding of over £1 million to deliver a World Values Survey 2025-27 and an opportunity for awards up to £500,000 to deliver tools/activities related to Census 2021/22. Current opportunities can be found here.

The UKRI application requires detailed information on the Agency’s ability to lead and support research, including evidence on existing research infrastructure and capability. The recently developed Research Strategy will contribute to this.

SMT, Agency Board and NIPSA have all been consulted in the development of this application.

What happens next

Findings from this questionnaire will be summarised and provided to central NISRA.
