Consultation on data tables for the Annual Report of the Registrar General
Overview
The Annual Report of the Registrar General is produced by the Vital Statistics Unit in NISRA and provides finalised detailed statistics based on vital events registrations data as recorded by the General Register Office in Northern Ireland. Data includes breakdowns on the number of births, stillbirths, deaths, marriages, civil partnerships, divorces and dissolutions, and adoptions registered in Northern Ireland in a calendar year.
Approximately 100 data tables are currently published alongside the Annual Report. This consultation seeks to identify which tables are essential to users in order to streamline this large number into a more compact set of practical, high value data tables that will be well-used.

All the information you provide will be treated in strict confidence and will not be used to identify you personally. The analysis will be carried out on an anonymous basis under the guidelines of the GDPR.

Information will not be passed on to anyone else and will only be used for the purposes of this consultation.
Why your views matter
Users drive the demand for the data we produce which is why your input to reshaping these tables is key. We want to ensure that the data we produce is of high value and will be used, but we also want to ensure to identify any gaps in the data we produce. It has been some time since the data produced alongside the Annual Report of the Registrar General has been reviewed, so it is an ideal time to assess if they continue to line up with user needs.
