Northern Ireland Elasmobranch Conservation Strategy - Consultation
Overview
Thank you for taking the time to consider this consultation paper. The Department welcomes your views on the development of an elasmobranch (sharks, skates and rays) conservation strategy for Northern Ireland. DAERA Marine and Fisheries Division is the statutory body responsible for protecting the marine environment and its associated species. This Elasmobranch Conservation Strategy has been developed to assess the conservation status of priority elasmobranch species in the Northern Ireland marine area, to work toward protecting their numbers from further decline and to promote recovery.
The consultation will last for 12 weeks, commencing on 23rd September 2024.
