Introduction of Mandatory Bovine Electronic Identification in Northern Ireland

Overview

This public consultation seeks input from all stakeholders and members of the public on the proposal to introduce mandatory bovine Electronic Identification (EID) for all newborn cattle in Northern Ireland during 2027. The introduction of mandatory bovine EID aims to enhance traceability, improve health and safety and animal health management, and streamline processes across the agri-food sector.
